“‘Art of Dreaming’ curriculum is a grand interweaving of dream practices, techniques, insights, studies and stories from around the world, centered in the dream teachings of indigenous México.

The name for the course is an ode to “The Art of Dreaming’ by Carlos Castaneda….

BOOK

The Spirituality of Dreaming

by Kelly Bulkeley

“We’re asleep almost a third of our lives. What if those sleeping hours hold wisdom, creativity, and even connection with the divine? What if our dreams offer spiritual insight and guidance―not just for ourselves, but for our communities?

In The Spirituality of Dreaming, leading dream scholar and expert Dr. Kelly Bulkeley brings us a set of time-honored methods to stimulate innate dreaming capacities and amplify their impact in our waking lives…”

ARTICLE

What are Dreams For?

By Amanda Gefter

There are some fascinating bits of science in this article. It focuses on the modern, western, scientific understanding of dreams.

“first the pup moved, then the brain responded. Bursts of activity in the sensorimotor cortex, which coördinates movement and sensation, followed the twitches. The body and brain weren’t disconnected. The brain was listening to the body… The theory, he pointed out, turned the rationale for rem paralysis on its head: the paralysis isn’t there to stop the twitches but to highlight them.”

May 5 2024

Aug 4 2024

Nov. 3 2024

“Here we are at the threshold, the end and the beginning, another cycle of return. We invite in community as we recommit to the practices that nourish our bodies and cultures, as we remember the ceremonies and dreams that colonization and patriarchy have tried to kill, as we initiate ourselves and loved ones on our sacred paths.
Our circle is forming for another year of intention, including five daylong retreats at the cross quarter holidays, herbal companions, new practices or activities with every moon, and online and in person community.
We have a deep sliding scale of monthly payments from $11-222.

We’d love to make a place for you around the fire.

By this and every effort, maybe the balance be regained.”

Transfiguration and Reparations LIVE!

By Tricia Hersey

“Infused with black liberation theology, poetry, spirituals, archival photos, direct action intervention and performance art, “Transfiguration” is an artistic and historical examination of the legacy of slavery, plantation labor and the commodification of black bodies in American history. It seeks to honor, reimagine and recapture the dream space that was stolen for centuries. Naps are a holy place, spiritual practice and a form of resistance for those living in the margins, navigating racism, poverty, violence and discrimination.”
